the town has bones
that rattle when you speak
there's the women wo walk
with tattoos on their cheeks
the towers that shine
shriek and they sway
but that country is so far away
and the planets that are red
spin and they swirl
and monkey hang proud
from the moons golden curls
that fall from the tongue
of the dogs and the strays
but that country is so far away
and there are roses in a place
where i've never been
that grow taller than those
that you've ever seen
there are mountains that hide
diamonds in their clays
but that country is so far away
grapes they grow sour
like a lovers warm kiss
and babies that were babies
soon growl and they hiss
the rain goes up and the wine goes down
but that country is so far away
